Episode  Seven – Nor Iron Bars a Cage

Vincent convinces Catherine that she must take a new and better position in Providence, Rhode Island.  However he is so distraught over the idea of losing Catherine, he drops his guard and is captured by Professor Hughes, a disgruntled anthropologist and his glory-seeking student, Jonathan Gould.  When Vincent doesn’t return, Father contacts Catherine. She begins her search by checking out a tabloid’s headline.  Following a trail of clues, she tracks down Hughes and begs for Vincent’s freedom.  Hughes agrees to let him go but Gould is enraged and kills Hughes.  As Gould fights with Catherine, she maneuvers him over to Vincent’s cage and he snaps Gould’s neck.  The episode ends with Catherine reading “Surprised by Joy” to Vincent in his chamber.
