Episode Thirty Nine - Trial

A rich businessman, Richard Nolan, is accused of beating his young son to death.  Moreno chooses Catherine to prosecute the case.  Failing to convince the wife to testify against her husband, Catherine turns to the daughter whose past medical records indicate possible physical abuse.  This evidence is enough to cast doubt on Nolan and he is convicted of second-degree murder.  Throughout the episode, Vincent supports Catherine’s efforts to win the case and is haunted by the evil directed at defenseless children.
