You'll never know what you've done for me,
What your faith in me, has done for my soul.
And you'll never know the gift you've given me,
I'll carry it with me.
Through the days ahead,
I'll think of days before.
You made me hope for something better,
and made me reach for something more......You taught me to run, you taught me to fly,
helped me to see the me inside.
Helped me hear the music in my heart,
helped me hear the music in my heart.......
The great hall carried the music, letting it dip and fall, glide and flow over the room and the two people dancing in it's center. Actually, the dancing had ended a song or two back. Now, the couple swayed, their arms locked about the other, heads pressed close. The remaining candles bathed them with a golden glow, an aura of peace and intimacy. They moved as one, breath mingling and hearts beating in time. Winterfest was long over, and the small CD player stood on the now empty table. Even the echoes of the previous merry-makers had faded, leaving only the soaring voices of the singers and the smooth tones of the piano.
You were the one, always on my side,
always standing by......seeing me through.
You were the song that always made me sing,
I'm singing this for you.
Everywhere I go I'll think of where I've been,
and you're the one who knew me better
than anyone ever will again....
Catherine snuggled deeper into the warm, hard wall of Vincents chest. Closer......she needed to get closer, even knowing it would never be close enough. Her face was buried against his throat, the pulse there vibrating against her lips. Her arm looped around his neck, her hands tangled in his flowing mane as small fingers softly stroking his nape. Breasts melded to chest, thighs brushing thighs, they slowly swayed in place. His arms were wrapped tightly about her waist and back. Strong fingers kneaded lightly at hip and shoulder, the silk of her dress enhancing the tender contact. He dipped his head even farther, inhaling the perfume of her hair and skin, living on her scent.....existing in her touch. The bond hummed between them with warmth and love, a cocoon of security.
What you taught me, only your love could ever teach me.
You got through when no one could reach me.
'Cuz you always saw in me all the best that I could be,
It was you who set me free........You taught me to run, you taught me to fly,
Helped me to see the me inside.
Helped me hear the music of my heart,
Helped me hear the music of my heart.....
Rousing herself from the ocean of their bond, Catherine whispered, "Vincent?"
"Hmmmm.....", the quietly rumbled sound skimmed over her nerves, leaving a shiver of delight in its wake.
"This could be our song.", she said, with lazy contentment.
There was a moment of silence in which she could feel his smile, and he nestled his face deeper into her shoulder. Then the rich, husky tones came again.
"Catherine, every love song is our song."
You opened my eyes, you opened the door,
To something I'd never known before.
And your love, is the music of my heart.........*
