Bountiful choices and pleasures to be discovered at the Mall of America! Free! (Unless you shop, of course!) Comfortable shoes a must! See our page about the mall for more information. Opens 10 am.

Option 2: Como Park
Receive serenity from nature at Como Park. There’s a small zoo, a conservatory, and a Japanese garden, all free. Or stimulate your inner child with a carousel, a few other amusement park rides, mini-golf, or rent water-bikes or canoes on the lake. The Sparky the Sea Lion show is a perpetual, corny favorite. Opens 10 am.

My Fair Lady at the Guthrie Theater, 7 pm
Immerse yourself in live theater with the transformation of Eliza Doolittle from a flower girl into a lady, performed at a theater that is unique to most theatergoers’ experience. “The Guthrie's unique thrust stage reaches out to its audience. With seating on three sides and opportunities for actors to enter and exit the stage via backstage, an intricate collection of trap doors and elevators, and directly through the audience, patrons are at the center of the action.”

Bus tour and boat ride
Does scandal titillate you? Interested in the shady past of St. Paul? The 3-hour Gangster Tour will highlight Twin Cities landmarks as well as explain how gangsters were once welcome in St Paul, so long as they committed their criminal activity elsewhere!

After our bus tour, one of the Padelford Riverboats will take us on their Margaritas on the Mississippi tour. A taco bar is included, and if you look forward to indulging in the 2 for 1 margaritas, you’ll be glad Prohibition and its gangsters are part of the past.

How better to live vicariously the life of Below than by visiting caves? Tour the man-made Wabasha Street Caves and hear how they came to be, how they’ve been used throughout the years, and who died in them - but may never have left!

Ever wonder if the crystal cavern Vincent found could ever exist? Crystal Cave in Spring Valley, Wisconsin will answer your question! Learn about the cave’s discovery, its history, and its geology. Remember those bats that Father swore at down Below? Learn about their biology; bats winter in this cave.

Feeling lucky? You may choose to pan for gems, and find your own crystal!
