Lost Love
By Carla Smith
You stole my heart
Before I even had a chance.
Your eyes bore into my soul
And saw my secrets;
And read my needs.
I resisted the urge to
call on you for help.
I refused to admit that
I loved you.
You gave me the space
I needed to think and breathe.
But one day I turned
And you were gone.
I didn't mean to make you leave.
I realized my love too late.
Your love-light had guided me
And now its gone.
I give these words to you
To keep that light alive.
You were and still are
My heart, my soul, my life, my
love My Catherine.
