We’ll have all our con traditions on Saturday and Sunday, bookended with 4 days of add-on fun.  That’s right – we’re making a little change this year. In light of the popularity of the Spring Fling-style gatherings, this year we’re dedicating an extra day to just revel in being together with our BatB family. This allows us to have a day for an additional add-on, or to just spend time with all our friends.  This small change is helping to keep the registration cost lower, and that gives everyone more money for the fun stuff!

We’ll be staying at the Embassy Suites in Independence, Ohio. It’s right down the street and around the corner from the hotel we used for the first Cleveland con in 2013. Since this is the same hotel chain as the one chosen by Pat Lurvey for the Chicago con, we will be enjoying all those perks that we loved so much in 2018:
  • Free made-to-order breakfast every day
  • Free parking
  • Free wifi in hotel rooms as well as the conference room
  • Complimentary evening receptions (free snacks and drinks!)
  • Free shuttle from the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and within a 5 mile radius of the hotel
  • And of course, spacious two-room suites with mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.
Our group rate is $149 per night plus taxes. Reservations can be made after August 1.

Your registration will include lunch both Saturday and Sunday as well as our Saturday banquet.

Register by July 31, 2020 for the early bird price: $200.
August 1, 2020 to March 1, 2021: $220.
March 1 to June 1, 2021: $240.
Registration closes June 1, 2021 and is non-refundable.

Add-ons have not yet been finalized, but we’re considering (I look forward to your input!):
  • Christmas in July: A tour of The Christmas Story House (“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!”) and Castle Noel, which has the world’s largest privately owned collection of Hollywood Christmas movie props and costumes from your favorite Christmas movies like The Grinch and Elf, etc., as well as animated window displays from NYC stores like Macy’s, Sak’s, etc.
  • The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad: Right down the street from our hotel is the northern-most stop of the scenic rail. We’ll ride in style through Cuyahoga Valley National Park to Akron Ohio.
  • The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: We went there before, but there’s always more and new exhibits.
  • A Day in Amish Country – Northeast Ohio is the home of a substantial Amish community. We can have a dinner in an Amish home and learn more about this fascinating and little understood group.
  • Winery or Brewery tour: Northeast Ohio has a number of wineries and Cleveland is home to some great breweries. We could tour, sample and make a day of that.
the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless logoOur charity: This year our charity will be the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless (NEOCH) whose mission is to organize and empower homeless and at risk men, women and children to break the cycle of poverty through public education, advocacy and the creation of nurturing environments.
