The underground salt mines of Hutchinson, Kansas are not only amazing to visit but are historical as well. Monday, July 19Morning: Sedgwick Co Historical Museum (11am – walking) In a beautiful, castle-like building, in downtown Wichita, you can peruse and learn more about this area of the country on the 3 levels of this unique museum. Artifacts, glassware, dolls, furniture, and more. www.wichitahistory.org $5 pp Evening: Tour The Orpheum Theater (Time TBA – walking) For over a century, the Orpheum has stood at the corner of First and Broadway as Wichita's most beloved, most resilient, and most magnificent gathering place. It has been a stage for the world's greatest performers, a home for the arts, and an enduring symbol of a city that has always believed the best is worth preserving. Tuesday, July 20Evening: The Artsy Bee Suncatcher Creative (early evening – walking) A very popular artist and art teacher will be guiding us in creating beautiful suncatchers utilizing colored, crushed glass in a design of your choosing (We’ll show the options later.) Bonus: We’ll be enjoying this activity at PROST in downtown Wichita – a German beer garden/tavern.
