Anniversary Notes

How is it possible, Catherine? You have been beside me for 27 years,
sharing my dreams, my desires, my days and nights…yet each time I see
you, my breath seems to leave my body, and I’m transported to a night on
your balcony when I came to say goodbye to you…all those months after
the night I found you in the Park. I remember every curve and line of
you, how your beauty was matched only by your compassion, how you
extended your hand to me and in that moment brought me into a life I
never had thought possible. It took me some time to learn the lessons of
that night. Your patience during that time was remarkable. You waited
for me to realize how our dreams could turn into this incredible reality
we have shared for so long. Thank you, my dearest love. Thank you for
the joy, for the laughter, for the immensity of my universe when I’m
with you. I love you.

How is it possible, Vincent? Our lives have been inextricably
interlinked for over a quarter of a century! Yet the time has passed in
the blink of an eye. Your love has been my anchor through all those
years – your love, and your understanding…and those blue, blue eyes. I
treasure each moment with you, each embrace, each word and gesture of
love. We have worked hard for this life we share. I am so proud of us
for meeting the challenges and overcoming them. When I see you now, it
brings me such joy, for I have had the privilege of watching your golden
mane turn softly silver – yet in my eyes you remain the strong, fierce,
beautiful Tunnel prince who saved my life and gave me this incredible
new one, all in one shining moment. I can never adequately express my
profound gratitude for this life we share – to you or to the universe. I
treasure it. I treasure you. I love you.
